Announcing CiscoWorks2000
Service Management Solution
version 2.0

Cisco Systems announces the availability of the CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution (SMS) version 2.0.

CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution (SMS) manages service levels between enterprises and internal or external service providers to ensure high-quality, economic delivery of converged network services.

CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution version 2.0 includes the following key features:

• Defines and monitors service-level agreements (SLAs), specifying traffic type, endpoints, and thresholds against key parameters such as latency, packet loss, and jitter

• Sets real-time traps allowing prompt detection and correction of possible service degradation

• Enables full management of service levels through easy integration with in-house or third-party analysis and provisioning systems

CiscoWorks2000 SMS comprises the Service Level Manager (SLM) application, CiscoView, core CiscoWorks2000 framework and inventory subsystems, the XML Programmer's Reference, and one or more SLM Collection Managers (CMs). CiscoWorks2000 SMS includes an embedded CM. Remote CMs are also available, providing additional scalability, distribution, and resiliency.

Availability

CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution (SMS) version 2.0 will begin shipping June 27, 2001. Customers interested in purchasing this solution can place orders through normal sales channels (see below for ordering information) beginning June 19, 2001.
