Nightmare was created by guitarists Sakito and Hitsugi. Later, Yomi joined the band as the vocalist, Ni-ya as the bassist and Zennin as the drummer. On July 2000, Zennin left the band and Ruka entered the band. During this time, the band produced a lot of good work until February 2002, when the started to chage their style little by little. Soon after that, they appeared at MATINA CD, held a sold-out one man concert and released the single "GAIA". On 2003, they became a major band under the label "Nippon Crown". On 2004, the band released their first DVD and maxi single under their alter-ego band "Sendai Kamotsu". On 2006, their single "The Wolrd/Aluminia" was choosen to be the OST for the anime "DEATH NOTE".
