Relink tables from different datasources
Author(s)
Timothy Pascoe &
Lyle Fairfield
There are often cases when one Access database has linked tables from different data sources (ODBC, Excel, FoxPro etc). Here's a generalized routine which can link to all linked sources, regardless of their source type.
You can call this routine while the database is being opened. Here's an example of calling the relink function from the OnClose event of a Splash form.
Private Sub Form_Close()
If fRefreshLinks = False Then
MsgBox "You have not refreshed the database links. This application " _
& "will can not function and will be terminated."
DoCmd.Quit
End If
End Sub
Note: This code still requires the GetOpenFileName routine provided by Ken Getz. Make sure you copy the function from this article.
This code goes in a new module.
