I've mailed 'Atapuerca' to news groups (click 'Atapuerca' button to see it). It is written in eight languages (Dutch, English, French,
German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish), but don't worry, you will only see it in ONE of
those languages: that of your PC. If anyone can contribute another language, you have only to send me
the translation, and I will gladly include it. The subject of my post is related to the
archeological excavations at Atapuerca (Burgos, Spain). Four Spanish universities are working to
investigate the sites, declared 'Patrimony of Humanity' by UNESCO at the end of the year 2000, and
they have found the remains of the first hominid that lived in Europe a million years ago, as well as
animal and plant remains, some of which are no longer in existence in the
area.
Special thanks to Meli, (Houston-Texas), for
this translation.
