The ESMS OPEN Rules

1.         Participation

1.1              Any team may enter as long as your team is currently involved in an active league that uses the esms or esms plus engine.

1.2              Only teams that apply on or before the deadline date that will be stated on the website will be entered into the competition.

1.3              Some leagues play with modified rosters (man of the match column, etc). Don’t worry if you believe your team is in a league that uses extra columns in the roster files. We will take out any columns that aren’t necessary for the competition.

2.         Competition Rosters

2.1              We do not wish to interfere in your league. Therefore, any injuries, suspensions, etc sustained from the OPEN will not have to be carried over into your regular league.

2.2              Any injuries, suspensions, etc that your players ALREADY have (from regular association matches) will not be valid in the OPEN. All injuries, suspensions etc will be taken away.

2.3              The reason for the above 2 rules is not for realism, but to give you the opportunity to play your best side from the beginning. Also, we wish to remain independent from your regular association as they may wish to be independent from us.

2.4              When your team has been accepted (announcement on the website), you will be required to e-mail us the txt file of your latest roster. (this will be checked with your regular league, or league owner, to avoid cheating, or people creating made up, “super teams”).

2.5              Failure to e-mail the roster within the specified time (also posted on the website), your team will not take part.

2.6              Also, if we should find ANY discrepancies between the roster you e-mail us, and the roster we check, your team will not participate. However contact will be made with the league owner in case a web update has been made.

2.7              Do not take away injuries, suspensions yourselves, neither should you drop any other stats, including Abs. We will do this. Refer to 2.6.

3.         Team sheets / Matches

3.1              Although we wish to be independent of any regular associations, we still wish to remain a little realistic. And therefore all matches will take place during the midweek. Match dates will be published on the website.

3.2              Team sheets must be received via email before midday on the day of the match.

3.3              If a team sheet is not received by this time, a team will be made using the esms software from your roster.

4.         Competition structure

4.1              The exact structure will be decided on and published on the website after the team entry deadline.

4.2              The competition will finish with a final between two teams on a neutral ground (home bonus 0).

4.3              Any group stages will require teams to play each other only once on a neutral ground (home bonus 0).

4.4              Some knockout stages MAY be two legged affairs, depending on how many teams enter and how many rounds there are.

5.         Items not accounted for

5.1              Any issues arising that have not been accounted for here will be decided on by the commissioner.

5.2              The commissioners decision is final in all respects.

6.         Finally

6.1       Finally, this wouldn’t be an esms game without this final rule. Have fun!
