Agosto 15 : comienzan formalmente los ensayos como cuarteto bajo la sig. alineacion: Benny Rotten: guit. Hippie Muerto: bat. Edgar el ganzo: voz. y Lega. bajo.
Agosto 29 : graban su primer demo indep. ( canto a la humanidad vol. i. ) 30 de agosto: son entrevistados por el programa ( onda rockera 102.5 fm. ) quienes transmitieron desde entonces y por primera vez, la idiologia y musica de un grupo punk en la radio tijuanense.
Septiembre 5 : hacen su debut en el teatro del seguro social de la ciudad de tijuana, con un lleno total, provocando una verdadera polemica, ya que a la 4ta cancion el organizador cancelo el evento por el slam, desatando asi el coraje entre los presentes quienes destruyeron el inmueble. desde entonces especimen creo una nueva generacion de seguidores al ser noticia en los medios de comunicación del estado. ese mismo año realizan su primer mini-gira slam 87 por las ciudades de: tijuana, mexicali y mexico d.f. sin siquiera ser conocidos en esas ciudades.
Septiembre 13 : tocan por 1ra vez en la colonia ( residencias imperiales.) de la ciudad de mexicali b.c. ante mas de 100 personas, en es epoca tocarian con el grupo mente dañada, gracias a los punks de chicali se juntaron algunas monedas para continuar la gira.
Septiembre 19 : distribuyen, venden y regalan su primer demo, dejando varias copias en el famoso tianguis cultural del chopo.
Del 26 de sept. al 28 de noviembre : realizaron varios conciertos al lado de los grupos punk´s mas importantes de esta epoca.
Diciembre 12 : especimen es invitado a tocar en un aniversario mas de la famosa banda de los sex-panchitos, de la ciudad de mex.
En solo 4 meses especimen habia participado ya en 18 conciertos, 3 entrevista de radio, 3 ciudades y una docena de fanzines de la epoca, incluyendo la revista banda rockera no. 36 mismos que han apoyado al grupo desde el inicio de su carrera.
