| Here are some questions I am often asked. For more information on individual games, click here. SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO ASK? THE GAMES What's a Mega Drive / Genesis? The Mega Drive and the Genesis are one and the same thing. They are, correspondingly, European and American names for a hugely popular 16-bit games console released by a company called Sega in about 1991. Who is Sonic the Hedgehog? Sonic the Hedgehog is Sega's flagship character - a blue hedgehog who can run at sonic speed, hence the name. Who is Dr. Robotnik? Robotnik is Sonic's arch enemy and, in the games, a mad scientist who wants to take over Mobius by capturing the Chaos Emeralds (see below). Who is Tails? Who is Miles Prower? They are the same character! Miles "Tails" Prower appeared in the game "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" and is Sonic's sidekick. He's a little fox with two tails, meaning he can twirl them like a helicopter and fly! Here's a cool fact: his name was invented by talking about Sonic's speed, as his name sounds like "miles per hour". Who is Knuckles? Knuckles is the last of a lost race of echidnas that used to inhabit the Floating Island. He first appears in "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" as Sonic's enemy - Dr. Robotnik tricked him into thinking Sonic was the evil one! However, by halfway through "Sonic & Knuckles" Knuckles realised that Robotnik was really the evil one. What's the difference between Mobius and the Floating Island? Mobius is the planet Sonic the Hedgehog lives on. The Floating Island is an island that floats above Mobius and is home to Knuckles the Echidna. What are the Chaos Emeralds? The Chaos Emeralds are seven gems that contain unlimited power. There is no general concensus on what colour they all are, whether the Grey Emerald is the same as the Master Emerald, and many other confusing things, but my fan work is based first and foremost on the Mega Drive games so I go by their rules. Therefore, I have the emeralds as the following: There are seven colours: blue, green, red, purple, orange, grey and sky blue. The Master Emerald is separate from these, and boosts the power of the Chaos Emeralds when placed close to them. The Master Emerald's power also keeps the Floating Island up in the sky. MY FAN WORK What's STC? STC stands for Sonic The Comic, a UK comic that ran from 1993 to 2001. Most of my fan work is strongly based on the characters and events of STC. I always though Robotnik was just an evil scientist. Why is he the dictator of Mobius in your stories? In STC Robotnik takes over Mobius by force, so I have kept this concept for my stories. Who are the Freedom Fighters? The concept of the Freedom Fighters is again an STC idea. It's basically a collective term for all those who actively fight against Robotnik's dictatorship. They consist of Sonic, Tails, Porker Lewis, Johnny Lightfoot and Amy Rose. I have not yet included Amy in any of my stories but she may feature in future fanfics. Who are Chaotix? The Chaotix appeared on "Knuckles' Chaotix" - a game for the Sega 32X. They consist of Mighty the Armadillo, Espio the Chameleon, Charmy Bee, and Vector the Crocodile. In my fanfic, the Chaotix fight alongside the Freedom Fighters to overthrow Dr. Robotnik's regime. What is the Kintobor Program? Another STC idea! In the STC version of events - and therefore my fanfic - Dr. Robotnik wasn't always evil. He used to be a good, kind man called Dr. Ovi Kintobor until an accident with the Chaos Emeralds turned him into Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Before the accident, Kintobor made a computer program of his personality which the Freedom Fighters now keep hold of in the hope that one day they will be able to restore Robotnik to his former self. MYSELF How old are you? I'm 21, born in September. Are you male or female? Female. Why is Knuckles your favourite character? I admire his ability to strike out on his own, and his devotion to duty. I like the air of mystery and intrigue surrounding him and his lost race. What games consoles do you own? Mega Drive, Master System, Playstation, PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube. My favourite games other than Sonic ones are Final Fantasy, especially VII, IX and X. |
