Please see Essey's current CV | ||||||
A resident of beautiful Australia since 1998, I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where I was introduced to the film business through family ties. Over the years I have "worn many hats" in and around the set of many films and television productions, but I was most drawn to Costume Design / Production Design. With a degree in illustration, I have the ability to create detailed concept sketches, set design and art. A sharp eye for colour and character style is to my advantage in working with the Director and Production Designer to make effective use of colour, contrast and form in any format. Quick and comprehensive script breakdown and wardrobe continuity come naturally to me. I have recently relocated (January 2005) to the hinterland of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia and will be pursuing work in this area Other qualifications and notes : I have been a lecturer at Flinders University Adelaide in the Screen Studies department in 2003 and 2004 (For references please contact Alison Wotherspoon - Director of Screen Studies at Flinders University, Adelaide -- Telephone: (08) 8201 5121 email: alison.wotherspoon@flinders.edu.au) My "lectures" are based on the impact of Visual Arts in Film Production/ Design and Costume Design. > Computer literate > Current Australian Driver Licence > German, Spanish, Portuguese spoken > 4 wheel drive vehicle > Experience as Second Assistant Director |
