METAMORPHOSIS He lives a life of agony, Born alone, lives alone, will die alone. Stalks the night for victims of fate, No friends burden him, No conscience holds him back. He feels them under his skin, Feeding on his doubt. He feels them growing, Their strength slowly draws from his. He try's to fit in, He is engulfed in the crowd. Yet amidst others he is alone, He still feels them, Stronger now, they are ravenous, Carving out his flesh, Tearing out his muscle, nesting in is bones. Under his skin, they persevere As they meet they merge. Coalesce to grow further still, His mind remains free, For now. His body now held captive, Under the skin is another now. His mind bears witness to his deeds, He is another now. Mind succumbs to the fate of the body, Metamorphosis complete. Another is born from the flesh of the individual, He is another now.
