And yet, there are many unknown mysteries hidden behind the 1's and 0's of this virtual reality game. For example, what is the deal with these so called "invinsible" monsters that ravage in isolated gaming fields, what is the legendary item that supposedly surpasses all system rules, the "Key of the Twilight", who is the mysterious cat player Maho, suspected of being behind many unfortunate events; and why can't an outlaw player by the name of Tsukasa log out of the World? All these questions may or may not be answered in the first few episodes, you've just gotta watch the whole series to understand the full situation of things, and along the way, it's characters.
A solitary wavemaster,Tsukasa, has no idea why or how he ended up trapped in the World, he's even not about to let anyone help him get out! However, with the assistance of a rouge twin blade wielder, Sora, Tsukasa attemps at by-passing all the system rules and regulations, therefore hitting on the bad spot of Silver Knight and many others. But when all seems lost, Tsukasa has many friends to rely on, even if he doesn't want any.
The Project .hack has currently produced the series, the game based OVA (.hack/Liminality) , and a game series starting with .hack//INFECTION, with 4 parts to it. All are very good and worth watching/playing!
