Using Fonts Effectively

What is the purpose of a web page?
Sounds like a trick question doesn't it? Duh! A web page is supposed
to give information!
Unfortunately, in surfing the net,
you may have already come across several examples of web pages where
the purpose is NOT entirely clear.
- Is this page trying to entertain
me with animated graphics?
- Is this page trying to impress me
with the web master's creative abilities?
- Is this page trying to confuse me
with too many selections in one place?
- Is this page trying to make me go
blind with colors that have too little or too much
contrast?
All of these are important aspects of
web page design,
but if you can't read the
text easily, the message (and purpose) of the web page will be
lost!
Let's take a look at three aspects of
using fonts effectively.
