DOWNLOAD FILES

URLMaker to make up full URLs from shortened URLs for geocities, download zip files, and load files for editing and such from your hard drive.

Written by Daniel E. O'Rourke and is free for personal use to people with sites at Geocities. This one is still about mid-range in the developing process.   This zip file is updated whenever a major change is made in the URLMaker program. It is not always updated for the minor changes.

Last Udate:  This zip file last updated 05/09/98.
Because I use the Neighborhood and site URL section in 3 different files, I have javascripted the Neighborhood and Site part of the URLMaker to save updating 3 different files each time that I update the Neighborhood and Suburbs section. The Neighborhood data is now contained in the .js file. The Neighborhoods have been updated to 4/28/98 listings. There are currently 220 Neighborhoods and Suburbs listed.

This file is an Image Font HTML Editor as will as an HTML coding helper file.
It is a Java 1.02 compiled program file and needs a Java jdk or jre to run.
The JRE 117 is included in this zip file. It is most of the the zip file.
I have run it under both the jdk 1.02 and 1.11 java.exe systems and the JRE 117.

It has macro type codes to add the coding for a basic html page and a two column table as well as some code to help convert a regular page into a table page and some other generic codes.
Type in page in the code field and the basic code for an HTML page is typed into your text area.

This file was developed to help in coding the unifon American Indian image fonts. The font data and HTML coding is coded into the program in this version.
This version uses a font subdirectory labeled Unifon and the placement of the symbols is defined differently than that used in version 2.0.
It has a find, a find and replace, and a find and replace all events. They seem to work okay.

It seems to have a cut off point of around 24,000 bytes before it stops taking in input.
I usually use the Professional File editor and cut and paste to make one file out of 2 or more files, if the basic coding runs to too large of a file.

This Map Maker can be used to map rectangle and circle map co-ordinates for an image file, it also saves the mapping code to a file so you can copy and paste to your page.

URLMaker Description

The paste block may be used to paste in a copied site and number in the form Eureka/1309 or Eureka/1309/URLMaker.html for internet pages or URLMaker.html for HDU files and then used to make the full URL without changing the top values.
For HDU Files type in file name. Tab, click Make HDU URL, and then click Go HDU button.
For Web pages type or paste in Neighborhood/Site, Tab, click Make Web URL button, then click on Go There.
The Clear button in front of the paste box will clear out the information in the paste box and also the Full URL box. To get back the defaults just click the Reset button.

The purpose of this form is to make up a full URL address for use in the browser location bar. It is still in the early stages of development.

It may also be used as a quick navigational tool for Geocities sites. Just change the site number and reload to go to a new site. Or change the Neighborhood and go to the same site number in a different neighborhood.

Currently you can take an address such as Eureka/1309 and paste it into the Full Site box or input a neighborhood and a site number and it will make up a full Geocities URL, i.e. http://www.oocities.org/Eureka/1309 .

The Neighborhood box lists most but not all of the current neighborhoods and suburbs. It automatically transfers the selection to the Full URL box and then the Make Web URL button will make up the full url and the Go There button will take you there.

After the URL is made up you can edit it in the Full URL box before you click the Go There button.
For instance if you wished to go to http://www.oocities.org/Eureka/4999/Tips.html you could just click on the Make Web URL button and it would put the http://www.oocities.org/Eureka/4999 in the Full URL box and then you would just have to type in /Tips.html and when you clicked the Go There button it would take you to http://www.oocities.org/Eureka/4999/Tips.html .

The file has been revised to include a JavaScript Source file and an html file. The source file is Neighborhoods.js . The file was just getting too big and I also use a modified version of this file for my browser home page. I put my primary links above the URLMaker part and my other preferred links below the URLMaker so that all that I need to do to reach my preferred links is to click the home button. I call this file my CL_Links.html file. Handy setup to use.
