My name is Marisa.   It's been almost 7 years since I discovered the Internet and I just love it. I seem to learn new and exciting stuff each and every day. I have made countless new friends right here on the WWW, by way of chat rooms, groups, email, etc.

I was born in Montreal, Canada, on a beautiful spring afternoon. You can check out one of the obligatory nude baby pictures that my parents took way back when. (I won't tell you when)!  I set up a web site, MontrealSurf,  with all sorts of Montreal-related links. Check it out and don't forget to leave me a message.

I am married to a wonderful husband, (George) for 19 years, and have a beautiful daughter, (Marie Christine). She is 11 years old and is constantly drawing something or other. She gave me this drawing to post here. She is just as excited about the net as her mother is! Check out her own home page! In 1999 I was part of my daughter's school's parents' committee where I set up their very own web site.

I am a working mom, and when I'm not too busy running around keeping my family happy, I love to be outdoors, as well as, de-stress myself in front of my computer. I like to search the net for new ideas and meet new and interesting people. I also love to design web pages. Last February 1998, I started my own part-time web design business. Check it out ! I named it Alexram Web Page Designs. Help me spread the wwword around! Thru this venture I have met some interesting business owners and it has helped me expand my knowledge of the Internet and of other types of businesses.

My full time job is Manager of Accounting Services, specializing mainly in the Management Accounting sector. For the last 16 years I worked for a large high tech manufacturer of printed circuit boards. Then in early October of 2000, I decided try something new. I needed a big change in my life. So I dared to start a new risky adventure by working in a start-up company that specializes in Photonics Devices for the global communications market. Only time will tell if I made the right decision. In the meantime, I am having a blast!

The latest addition to our family, is Tyson, our Golden Retriever. His previous owner didn't want him any longer, so my husband adopted him. Our daughter had been constantly asking to get a dog, but always came up with excuses to say no. We finally gave in May 2000. He was 15 months old when he came to live with us. It has been difficult to re-train him, but he is now so much part of our family, that we couldn't dream of not having him around.

In May 97, my dream of owning a Mustang came true. Call it my mid-life crisis, but, what the heck, you only live once! I sold it two years later. :(  Let's just say it's not too practical if you have a family. I sure did love driving it though. It brought out the wild woman in me.. hehehe!!. She was a 5-speed '95 model and ran like a mustang should.

The summer of 98, we drove cross Canada for our summer vacation and had a ball. It was such a rewarding experience.  Read all about it here.

In the summer of 99, one of our wishes came true. For years both George and I were dreaming of owning our own sailboat and sail across the many lakes and rivers we have in our area.  Well this time we stopped gabbing and went into action.  We went out and bought one! She is not a fancy or big sailboat but she's dear to us.  She is a 25- feet, 1976 Challenger. Made right here in Quebec. She is docked at the Baie D'urfé Yacht Club. Needless to say we have been on cloud 9 eversince we got her. I took boating courses one winter at the nearby Royal St. Lawrence Yacht club to acquire some much-needed knowledge before I set sail. You can read more about our sailing adventures on our sailing page.

Well that's it for now. Don't have much more to say. I will be updating this page from time to time, so do come again!
