Welcome
to the home of Europes Elite Soccer, if you are interested in joining the EES
please apply for an available team and we'll do the rest. The
Division 2 is practically done, there are some teams that have been removed to
make the league 10 teams, also the teams that have an N/A manager is because their
manager is currently in the EES, so I will sort those teams with a manager before
long. Thank you

What
happened it Turin? or more to the point, what didn't happen? a 9 goal thriller
where the Division 1 runners up took the lead, Antonio Cassano netted a cool strike
off the back of Veron through pass. Saviola netted an equaliser for the home side,
a debut goal for the Argentine after knocking the ball past the defence and running
through on the 'keeper to score a dream debut goal. The debut came even better
on 30 minutes. Pavel Nedveds cross met a cheeky backheel of Saviola giving Juventus
a rather deserved 2-1 lead. Juventus found themselves 3-1 up a matter of minutes
into the second half, Juventus were given a free kick 10 yards inside the Roma
half, Pavel Nedved struck from range and rifled the ball over Frey in a sure win
for EES greatest ever goal. Things went from bad to worse for Roma, as they soon
found themselves 4-1 down. When Philipe Mexes lunged into Saviola who was dancing
his way round the Roma defence, and Mexes threw himself at Saviolas legs, Defoe
struck into the goalkeepers top corner with 54 minutes played. Christian Chivu
restored some pride, from the kick off Roma won a corner, and Chivu lept up and
over all others and nodded in Romas 2nd, 4-2 the score. Saviola carried on todays
fine form, and netted the hattrick goal Del Hornos cross deflected off Tacchianardi
and perfectly set up for Saviola to drove home a Juventus 5th and a well deserved
hattrick on 69 minutes. Roma came back slightly stronger, and on 74 minutes, Antonio
Cassano curled in a 20 yard shot, which looked to be aiming atleast a yard wide.
Alberto Gilardinho netted a Roma 4th, 3 minutes from time but wasn't enough as
a fantastic game ended. MAN OF THE MATCH: Javier Saviola The
San Siro hailed Obafemi Martins for his late strike to salvage a draw for into
over Division 1 champions Liverpool. Mikael Essien grabbed the openner, swipping
the ball across Gigi Buffon from Dejan Stankovices low cross just after the half
hour mark. New boy Robin Van Persie netted on his debut, running through onto
Lampards through pass and nutmegging an on comming 'keeper leveled the game. Adriano
out powered Lucio and beat Wilfred Bouma for pace to charge through and score
a Liverpool second with 15 minutes to play. 4 minutes left on the clock Mark van
Bommel cleared from the back, Martins latched onto the long ball and showing some
superb vission chipped Buffon from pretty much the right hand touch line giving
both sides a share of the spoils. MAN OF THE MATCH: Obafemi Martins Dutch
striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy clawed Arsenal back in the second half as they came
from a goal down atthe San Siro. Alvaro Recoba netted from 12 yards, Sol Campbells
handball classed blaitant by the referie. Recoba chipped the ball into the top
corner for 1-0. Van Nistelrooy netted the equaliser sliding in a Jose Antonio
Reyes cross from close range with 20 minutes to play, the Dutchman was onhand
for the 2nd Arsenal goal. Okochas corner rattled the post and Van Nisteltrooy
reacted first with an easy tap in for a rather lucky Arsenal win. MAN OF THE
MATCH: Patrick Vieira The
shock came at Chelsea where Lyon managed to hold onto a 5th minute Montella header.
Rommedhal speeding his way down the wing and playing in a deep cross to the back
post for Vincenzo Montella to nod down into the bottom corner, Lyon ended up hanging
on and living up to the standards manager Sam Allardyce set last season. MAN
OF THE MATCH: Maniche PSV
were unlucky to lose to Bayern Munich, a Titus Bramble own goal separated the
sides by miss kicking a clearance past Carlo Cudicini to give PSV a first day
defeat to the Champions. MAN OF THE MATCH: Carlo Cudicini Barcelona
were held to a goalless stalemate with Real Madrid in a boring Grande Clasico. 7
goals can't be split evenly, and in the end it was the home side who just edged
it on goals, but not necessarily on performance. Mido netted for Spurs with 12
minutes on the clock. Sebastien Deisler did the hard work on the right, and drove
the ball through the Dortmund defence to Mido to latch onto and net his 2nd Tottenham
goal. The Egyptian doubled his tally 7 minutes later from close range, Deislers
free kick met the head of Philip Cocu, who nodded down for Mido to rifle home
number 2. Dortmund then woke up, 3 minutes later, Kieron Richardson struck from
wide right over the 'keeper and in off the far post for 2-1, and Thomas Rosicky
netted on his full time return from Liverpool with 34 minutes played, the Czech
was on hand after Richardsons corner was cleared but only as far as Rosicky who
vollied through a pack of players to level the game. The goals went silent until
67 minutes, when Dianbobo Balde nodded in Deislers to score a very rare goal making
it 3-2 Spurs. Santa Cruz netted from the spot after hand ball was given against
Patrice Evra with just under 20 minutes to play. The germans managed to net number
4 with 6 minutes to go, Rosicky getting the final touch in a pack of players following
Richardsons free kick, the Germans get off to a good start while Tottenham slump. MAN
OF THE MATCH: Thomas Rosicky
Newcastle
proved the prode of Teeside with a 4-0 thrashing over Valencia. Andy Johnson netted
4 times, the first on 37 minutes James Milners attempt to switch the play hit
Jorge Adrade and ended up perfect for Johnson to strike into the top corner for
1-0. Number 2 came 3 minutes later. Roberts cross met the head of Johnson, which
deflected off the bar, Kieron Dyer reacted and smashed the ball against Johnson
and the goal went down as a Johnson double. The hattrick goal came 5 minutes into
the second half, Valencia camped everyone except Canizares into the Newcastle
half and wasted their opportunity as Jean-Allain Boumsong whacked clear and set
free Johnson to run the full length of the pitch and beat Canizares for his second
EES hattrick. Number 4 came a matter of minutes from time, Roberts corner fell
to Johnson at the far post who struck his 4th on the half volley, great start
Andy. MAN OF THE MATCH: Andy Johnson Rangers
made simple work of Deportivo, but keft it until just short of 10 minutes into
the second half, Ricardo Oliviera recieved the ball and strolled into the area,
looked up and found the bottom corner with ease giving Rangers a much deserved
lead. Barry Ferguson doubled the lead with less than 10 minutes to play. Arrowing
his free kick through the Deportivo wall wrapped up the Rangers victory. MAN
OF THE MATCH: Peter Lovenkrands Porto
shocked league favourites Manchester United with a single goal, Zenden the scorer
pulling the trigger from 30 yards and firing the ball in off the bar leaving Carroll
for dead. Porto should've made it 2, as Bolo Zenden missed an open goal, but in
fairness was at a tightish angle after Carroll parried. So hero and villan all
in one but the result is all that matters. MAN OF THE MATCH: Pepe Ajax
got off to a comfortable start, they needed one goal to see off Leverkusen. Javier
Portillo netted a 74th minute goal from close range, after some great team play
set the former Real Madrid striker free to chip a sliding Hans-Jorge Butt. MAN
OF THE MATCH: Javier Zanetti Betis
and Celtic were held honours even at Celtic Park, neither side looked like winning
in a poor game.
Manchester
City managed to do the impossible with a very poor performance over Monaco in
Manchester. The blue half of Manchester managed a draw and actually took the lead,
Milan Baros teasing the Monaco defenders with complete ease rattled a close range
shot off the post and on hand was Darrius Vassel to place the ball into a vacant
goal and give City an 8th minute lead. Monaco pushed and pushed but failed to
break the deficit in a first half where Kallon brought a great save out of David
James flying too his right with 20 minutes gone, Plasi's free kick deflected off
the wall and onto the post just before half tim, making Monaco fans wonder if
it just wasn't going to be their day. However, they finally managed to beat David
James, Mohamed Kallon the scorer. Andy Reids long ball went straight over Citys
very high line, Kallon the quickest in the race before rounding James and easily
putting the ball into the net to give Monaco a well deserved point. MAN OF
THE MATCH: Antoine Sibierski Middlesbrough
made the worst possible start to their EES campaign with a 4-0 defeat to Werder
Bremen. Werder were given a 6th minute penalty to start their goal rush. Gareth
Southgates challenge on Ivan Klasnic wasn't one to turn a blind eye, Guerro netted
his first EES goal from 12 yards. Ivan Klasnic battled to the end to score Bremens
second. 3 men surrounding the Croatian in the corner, Klasnic managed to fight
his way out, being pulled and kicked every 2 seconds, and then rounding Bradly
Jones to score a goal packed with grit. Johann Micould played some teasing balls
in the Bremen midfield, and with 1 minute before half time, broke from the midfield
to start linking up with Klasnic, Micould strook but was denied by Jones, Klasnic
got the re bound and celebrated his second goal of the game. Goal number 4 came
5 minutes into the second half, Borowskis free kick headed in by Micould ended
the scoring from Bremen showing why they're odds on favourites to win. MAN
OF THE MATCH: Johan Micould Else
where, Lazio and Sporting Lisbon failed to get off the mark, Villarreal couldn't
use their attacking dominance to over come Feyenoord and Everton managed a draw
over Atletico Madrid at Goodison Park.
