Meaning: Durui- Tough (mutation of the latin word durus) Cruustulum- Cookie (mutation of the latin word crustulum)
Age: 17
Birthday: October 19
Bloodtype: AB
Favorite Stone: Spessertite Opal (Golden Orange version)
Favorite Food: Sloppy Joes and potato chips ^^
Favorite Animal: Chinchillas (And that has absolutly nothing to do with the fact that she has a chinchilla named Mr. P ^^)
Favorite Subject: And cliche as it might be, Durui enjoys Phis Ed ^^;; Oh. . . and Lunch. That's about it --;
Favorite Colour: Orange
Hobbies: Practicing Capoeira, singing, reading the fighting scenes in action books and practicing the movements afterwards, writing small portions of songs (and these are either disgarded and never used again or turned into an entire song. . . that is never used again ^^;;), finding new ways to get out of doing her homework, ruthlessly teasing/tormenting the snobs from St. Saveur ^^;, and if it could be counted as a hobby ^^;;, doing rash/drastic things on whim
Likes: Not being told what to do by other people, dying her hair different colors (^^;; She doesn't do it frequently enough for it to be counted as a hobby, by Diur still enjoys doing it ^^;;), when she is able to spoil any of St. Savuer's school council's plans ^^
Dislikes: Any of her ideas not going as planned, being insulted/teased (most people don't like this, for sure, but it is listed because Durui dislikes this more than most people seem to ^^;;), hair clips/makeup (it is a little to feminine for Diur oO;;), when people think that they know her inside and out (This unsettles Durui, because she feels like she would rather have people wondering what she will be doing next than knowing every move she is going to make throughout the day)
Dream: That would require forethough ^^ Diur does, however, want to make Alleyway famous (the whole doing concerts and meeting other famous people really appeals to her ^^;;) and get to the highest cord she can in Capoeira. If your char had three wishes, they'd wish for: 1. For aliens to come and abduct St. Saveur and all of its students and teachers and never bring them back ^^;; 2. For her parents to become world renound in their careers (her mother's art and her father's music) and 3. To grow 7 inches taller (being short really bothers Durui oO;;)
Special Skills: Durui has two skills that surpass most of her others. The first is her vocal capabilities. Her mother, though she is now an artist, was a singer for a small rock band before she married Diur's father. Even though half of the things she was 'singing' were actually pretty much yelling (^_^;;), she did have the beautiful voice that Durui also has. The second skill is her fighting ability. As it might be correctly guessed, Durui does get into a lot of fights. She reads action books with fighting scenes in them frequently, and thus she tries out the movements mentioned in the book until they suit her liking. She also takes a Brazilian martial arts called Capoeira (Pronounced: Cap-weh-tah). This is a form of martial arts that looks more like an intricate dance than anything, created by the africans to protect themselves from their slave masters. She has taken this since she was 9 years old, but she has not yet attended a cord earning ceremony (in Capoeira they use cords instead of belts), so she doesn't have any cords to show off as of yet. Also, if being very adaptable to the weather conditions/temerature counts, Durui also is very flexible in the environment (weather and temperature wise) she is in. Meaning she could wear shorts in the middle of winter and not get cold for an hour or so.
School: Schwartz High
Nationality: Irish (though no one would be able to tell ^^;;)
Home: Dorms at Schwartz, her parents live in Canada though.
Family: Carisa Cruustulum- Durui's mother. She is 40 years old, though somehow she appears to be somehere in her late twenties, with pale red hair and sparkling brown eyes. She was born in Ireland, but raised in the US and thus she doesn't have the customary Irish accent. She lived in the US until she was 26 and while she was in the US she was studying art, because her aspiration was to become a world famous artist. Unfortunetly she had started dating a man when she was 22 who left her a few weeks later with a baby on the way. When she was 23 she had Durui, but she was able to finish out college with the financhial help of her parents. At the age of 26 she began to feel the pangs of homesickness and moved back to Ireland with Durui once she graduated from college. There she met Maponus, a lively young musician who was playing at a club she went into one night, and the next year they were married. Two years later Maponus's job moved them to the US, where they lived for another four years. They moved to England after that, and they lived there for five years. After England they returned to Ireland for a year, then traveled back to the US and lived there for two years. Carisa wanted to go up to Canada and paint some of the beautiful landscapes there, and Mapunos agreed to moving once more. Carisa and Maponus currently live in a three bedroom, one bathroom apartment in Canada. Maponus Cruustulum- Durui's Father. He is 41 years old, being only one year older than his wife. He looks about 30, with pale blonde hair and gray eyes hiding behind oval glasses. He was also born in Ireland, but he lived there all of his life. Maponus always had musical talent, and for a while he had formed his own band. The band didn't last very long, but it was fun while it lasted. As he aged he never seemed to compleatly grow up. A part of him was still childish and energetic, making him an interesting person to be around. At the age of 28 he married Carisa, who already had a baby girl. The two decided not to have another child, because they wanted to give Durui as much attention as possible. They moved around quite a bit, never staying anywhere for more than 5 years as described above. From Ireland to the Us, the US to England, England to Ireland, Ireland to the US and the US to Canada where he currently lives.
Appearance: At first glance, the first thing that people would notice about Durui is her hair. Naturally it is pale strawberry blonde ("Call it pink and you'll wish you weren't born ), but she has currently dyed her hair multiple shades of blue. Not that it will stay that color for long, Diur re-dyes her hair frequently. Durui's hair is cut into a ragged looking pixie cut, giving her a slightly boyish look. Her eyes are a dark brown, lively and shining, and are usually hidden behind oval blue-tinted sunglasses with a thin silver frame. Durui has her ears pierced in four different places, three on the cartilage on the top of the ear and one of the ear lobe. She normally wears three silver studs and a silver hoop earing, simply because it gives her the look she prefers. She isn't tall by any means, standing at the diminutive higth of 5', but her strength that makes up for her lack of inches. If she didn't wear the clothing that she does, Durui might look more girlish than she would prefer, simply because she has a thin body with a short torso and long legs. She might be thin, but in this case appearances can be decieving. She actually is extreamly strong (if that wasn't surmised by now ^^;;), even if she doesn't look it.
Clothes: Durui wears two different styles of clothes, depending on what mood she is in that day. The first and most frequent of the two styles consists of a looser, more casual attire. White, red, yellow and orange t-shirts that reach to her hips and baggy color-coordinating pants are the norm. Her t-shirts are loose fitting and overall comfortable, sometimes with sloagans on the backs and other times no designs at all. Her second style is more girlish that the last, consisting of tank tops and shorts. Somehow Durui doesn't seem to get cold. Ever. So, this enables her to wear shorts and tanktops all year round ^^ Nomatter what she is wearing, it will be in a bright vibrant color that makes her stand out in the crowd. It doesn't matter what outfit Diur has chosen to wear, her footwear always consists of either sandals or tennies. She refuses to wear uncomfortable shoes. Durui also cannot be found without her Chilli Pepper's leather jacket and silver pendant with A.W. etched into the middle of it.
Personality: First and foremost, Durui is extreamly sarcastic. She doesn't seem to care whether what she says will hurt other people, she has been hurt before and she's gotten over it, so why shouldn't they be able to also? Sarcasm is something that Durui has held as an almost sacred thing, not to be messed with or copied, only to be displayed. Another thing that tends to irritate or even baffle people is the fact that Durui can't take in what she dishes out; if she does something that is mean or cruel and they turn around and copy the action Diur will get extreamly indignant and then World War III breaks out. Being a very vengeful person, she feels as though she must get someone back for what they have done to her. This added trait makes her a fairly unavoidable hypocrit, with her not wanting people do do certain things and then she turns around and does what she doesn't want them to do ^^ If they embarass her, even the smallest bit, Durui feels that she must be the one to get them back for it, then the next day their social life has plumeted and life for Diur goes on ^^ She isn't as horrid as she might sound, though after reading the above one might correctly surmise that Durui is far from perfect. True, she is sarcastic to the point where she borders being cruel and cynical, she has the habit of being an aggrivating hypocrit and she will go to great higths just to get revenge on someone, but she isn't all bad. When she does make friends or get attatched to something Diur clings to it like a warm magnet dunked in Krazy Glue does a piece of freezing steel ^^;; She defends her friends, posessions and other things she holds dear with vicious care, so much that she borders on a dangerous jelousy that most are advised to avoid. In a way she is like an obsessive guardian angel that most don't find useful, just annoyingly persistant. Durui's name suits her perfectly, (it means 'Tough Cookie' if that was not realized by now ^^) being that Diur is not a person to mess with. She isn't one to become a sudden double crosser and do the compleate opposit of what she is told, but she won't stand for being told what to do. Suggesting is fine, asking good but she will alter whatever she is ordered to do just enough that it suits her. Of course, if someone tells her to do something that Durui is perfectly fine with, she will compleatly ignore what she was told to do and then suddenly say (seemingly out of the blue ^^) that she will be doing what she was told to do before. The only reason for this action is Durui, as stated before, doesn't like being told what to do. If she says that she is going to do something than almost nothing will sway her decision, so on top of her other faults Durui is also extreamly stubborn. Durui has had a grudge against St. Saveur since she first set eyes on the school and its inhabitants. There isn't exactly a reason as to why she doesn't like the snobby school; the way the students dress and their snobbish are just send Durui over the edge. Thus, without pummeling them into the ground in a slightly less than nice manner, the only way Diur sees that she can get back at them daily for thinking that they are better than everyone else is by teasing them ruthlessly. Add in a small, but extreamly annoying prank every now and then and Durui can take care of her anger towards the school easily. Needless to say the preps at St. Savuer don't like her very much. It might not have been stated yet, but Durui does have a way with words. They can be soothing and comforting, or they can be cold and stinging. The latter is the most common. She seems to know how to upset and embarass people with ease, a trait that she was developed over the years by perfecting it at her other schools. Though Durui might seem to have an extreamly dependable personality, she has the tendancy to do things that are extreamly out of chraacter, like being nice to someone or not knocking someone out when in the middle of a fight. Diur does this for two reasons, number one is because she doesn't want to give peoplet the pleasure of reading her like a book and number two, she needs some variety in her life. Fighting and making rude sarcastic remarks can get pretty old after a while, so she keeps herself happy by doing random acts of what she deems 'kindness'.
History: Durui has never stayed in one place for very
long. She was born in America, her biological father
having run off as soon as her mother became pregnant,
and lived there for three years. Being so young the
move didn't effect young Diur, and so she was fairly
happy in Ireland. She loved the green scenery and was
often found outside wandering through the backyard.
The year after Carisa and Diur moved to Ireland her
mother was married to a nice young man named Maponus.
It didn't take long for Durui to start calling him
Daddy, she was delighted that she now had a father
like everybody else did. A few months after Diur
turned five she moved again, back to the US. She
lived in the rugged mountains of Wyoming for four
years, and she loved every minute of it. She soon
grew to love the mountains and when she was told they
were moving again, when she was 9 years old, she
didn't take to it as well as she had the first two
times. But still, she moved and soon found out that
she couldn't become angry and reserved if she wanted
to live life to the fullest. So Durui moved to
England with her parents and stayed there for five
years. She didn't, however, pick up any of the
sophisticated posh life that England was renound for
in the US. Diur started hanging out with a crowd that
pierced as many parts of there body as they could and
dyed there hair a different color each week. This was
where she first began to pick up her punk like
tendancies.
Luckily enough Diur was used to moving around when
her parents told her that she was moving back to
Ireland for a year. The entire time they were moving
her parents payed as much attention to their child as
possible, being afraid that if they didn't make sure
she knew she was loved that she might grow depresed
with all of the moving they were doing. She wasn't as
attatched to Ireland as she thought she would be, and
she was releaved when they moved back to the US. She
lived in New York for two years, enhancing her
education as to being tough and punkish the whole
time. Then she moved to Monteal, Canada because her
mother wanted to pain some of the scenery out there.
When Durui arrived in Monteal she began looking at her
two choices for schools and soon made her choice to
enroll in Schwartz High. She also chose to board at
the dorms at Schwartz, visiting her parents whenever
it was conveniant for both Diur's and her parent's
schedules. It wasn't long until she joined the Chilli
Peppers and became a member of the band 'Alleyway',
being accepted as their singer.
