"Mom, Dad this is Allysa...Allysa this is my mom and dad." Hayden held Allysa's hand with an assuring grip.
Alyssa nervously reached out to shake their hands and give them her most gorgeous smile, "Nice to finally be meeting you.  Hayden has said so many nice things about you."
The parents smiled, "We're glad that we finally get to see you too.  Hayden has gone on and on about how special you are.  You are truly beautiful to my dear.  Come in and sit down with us." Mom directed them into the living room.
Hayden and Allyssa sat down on the love seat holding each other's hand tightley.  Allyssa held Hayden's hand nervously rubbing her thumb back and forth across this palm.
"So, Hayden didn't tell us very about you Allyssa.  Why don't you tell us somethings." Dad sat beside his wife, but they werent holding hands.  In fact they both look very distant.
"Well, there's...there's really not much to tell.  I'm 22 years old...live with my dog Pugy and...that's it.  I don't have a very intresting life."
"What about your parents.  What are their names?" Mom asked.
There was complete silence for a few seconds before Hayden spoke up, "Her parents died when she was eight years old."
There was a moan of sympathy which Allyssa was used to since everyone always did that anytime they heard she was parentless, "I'm so sorry Allyssa.  How...how did they die?" mom continued.
"They were in a really bad car crash.  They hit head on with a tractor trailer.  I was supposed to be with them, but I was spending the night with my grandparents that night."
"It's a good thing you weren't with them." dad said.
"Sometimes I wish I were." Allyssa dropped her head.
"Did I tell you guys where I met Allyssa?" Hayden said changing the subject.
"No son, you didnt." Dad said.
"Me and Tove were at the coffee shop on 45th, and we were talking about about...I can't remember what we were talking about, but I remember telling Tove how I wanted to meet a girl in a coffee shop like the one we were in, and I looked up and Allyssa was there.  It was like something clicked...it was beautiful."
Allyssa smiled, "I was listening to that conversation, and you were talking about your ex-girlfriend."
Hayden laughedl, "Oh really.  Quiet the little eaves dropper you are."
"No, I was just re-organizing the books on the shelf and y'all were talking kind of loud."
The parents giggled, "So, how long has this been?"
"Three months now." Hayden replied, "But it seems like I've known her forever."
"Do you have any brothers or sisters?" Mom asked.
"No, I am an only child."
"Really. Have you met Hejsa and Tove and Kaylen yet?" Mom asked.
"Yes actually.  Hayden had them all over at his house for dinner one night for me to meet them. Very nice."
"Good.  Well, I've got lasagna in the kitchen ready to eat.  You two can have a seat at the table and it'll be out in a minute.  David...would you mind helping me?"
"Sure." Dad got up and walked with Alie to the kitchen.
Hayden looked at Allyssa, "You alright?" he smiled.
"I'm fine.  Thanks.  I really like your parents."
"Yeah, well, they aren't always peaches." Hayden smiled, "Come on we'll go ahead and have a seat."
"Hold on." she whispered, "Kiss me."
Hayden chuckled and leaned for and gave her a passionate kiss and then they sat down at the table.  Allyssa's nervousness faded a little as dinner progressed, and when they left later that night..Allyssa was sure she was welcome into that family.  She was being loved by someone else other than Hayden.  It felt....wonderful.
