What is NJROTC
.

The Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) program was established by Congress as part of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps Vitalization Act of 1964, it went into effect in the fall of 1966 in high schools across the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, and Guam. The purpose of the NJROTC program is to promote patriotism, develope a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership, give pride, self respect, confidence, and the desire to do one's best, to better understand infomation on matters national security, give an understanding of the US Navy's role in the national defence and to develope respect for proper authority.

Departments

Here are the departments that make up most NJROTC's:

Administration Department: Keeps the records for the unit, as in promotions, ribbons, medals, teams, positions, and personal information.

Supply Department: The supply department keeps track of all the spare uniforms and uniform items that are in stock and are being used by cadets.

Resource Department: The unit treasurer, keeps track of fundraisers and the money for the unit.

Public Affairs Deartment: The PA department is responsible for all writen and video/audio documentation of unit events. They also advertise upcoming unit events.

Operations Department: The Ops Department puts all activities into action so to say, activities like picnics, ship cruises and competitions.

Ordnance Department: Deals with cleaning and keeping stock of the rifles.

Recruiting Department: Deals with getting people to join the unit.
