I visited Las Vegas for the first time in October of 1997 to attend "My Best Friend's Wedding".  Naturally, I was excited, especially since I'd never been there.  Most all of my friends have been, and they all love it.  I was a bit nervous about the flight (as usual), but this time we flew First Class and that made a BIG difference.

Our flight left BWI airport at about 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th. The flight was really nice; we had a great dinner (I had salmon and Steve had filet mignon) and then watched the movie(ironically), "My Best Friend's Wedding".

We arrived in Las Vegas after a short layover in Pittsburg at about 11:00 p.m. (1 p.m. East Coast Time).  My husband and I had both worked that day, so the day was a long one for sure.  We were beat tired, but as soon as we saw that gorgeous skyline from the airplane, we began to wake up.

We arrived at New York New York Hotel and Casino where we immediately ran into the Groom (Frank) and his Best Man (Todd), we joined them for a few drinks  at the "Big Apple Bar".  The "Big Apple Bar" is in the center of the casino and is somewhat elevated.  It has a large red apple hanging above it, and so that is what became our "meeting point" for the rest of the trip.  We finally got to sleep at about 2:00 a.m. (5:00 a.m. East Coast Time) so we had been awake almost 24 hours

This is where Nita & Frank tied the knot on October 10, 1997.  This is also, where we all stayed during our visit.  The casino itself was really neat too, the inside looks just like New York City with lots of streets, neon lights, people and action!

The wedding was beautifully done. The chapel was lavish and tasteful and the Champagne and Cake Reception following was just the right touch.
