I tagged along while my husband attended a business meeting to Newport, RI ... just expecting a quick getaway. I cannot, now, believe that I almost didn't go, as I fell madly in love with the place. I'd never much given Rhode Island a second thought (isn't it the smallest state?), but after I visited I felt very foolish indeed! We saw beautiful seascapes, bridges, green countryside, quaint ocean front wharfs, mansions with history beyond a hundred years. We will visit Newport again, if not make it an annual trip!
