If you're at this page you already know what this film is about.I remember being fascinated by the title back in 1968 or 1969 when it aired at 3am on a school night.I saw a few stills and just had to see the movie.Of course it did take 30 years.
A baron is hauled before the Inquisition. He is condemned as a warlock and is to be burned at the stake. He is dressed in the clothing of shame and tossed on the fire. Before he dies he vows to come back 300 years hence and kill the descendants of his accusers.(Since you're not planning on doing me in immediately, how about another log for the fire Baron?).
Sure enough 300 years later the Baron returns on a comet. He is back as a hairy, inflatible headed monster with a 2 foot forked tongue. He sucks the brains out of his victims. Then he resumes a normal appearance. The Baron runs all over the countryside swearing that a mind is a terrible thing to taste.
You'll either love or hate this movie. It is so wild, so surreal that you at least will never forget it.The special effects are pretty bad and the Brainiac monster is a hoot. However the cast plays it straight. The pacing is fast and furious.I happen to love this film but then again I'm a sick puppy.
It is out in dvd for a short time. The dvd runs 7 minutes longer than any vhs print I've seen.So there are a few plot holes that are a little clearer and a few more murders than on the old tapes.
This truly is wild & wooly fun.Enjoy!
