| (This review is based on a spanish only print!) Dr M, Dr Gonzalez and another doc run an insane asylum.Dr M & the unamed doc make a pact:Whoever dies first will come back and tell the other one about death.Well the other doctor dies.He comes back and tells Dr M that he will be joining him in death in 3 months. At this point a young woman comes into M's life.He falls in love with her and serenades her with his violin.But she falls for a younger man.The ghost hangs around causing trouble. One night one of the patients breaks loose.She tosses the staff around like toys.Elmer, an orderly corners her in the lab.The patient throws a bottle of acid in Elmer's face scarring him horribly before she is subdued. The ghost helps the same lady loose.Elmer takes advantage of this and stabs her to death.But Dr M is blamed for the crime.He is sentenced to hang for the crime. |
| Elmer writes a confession.As he is heading to the police he either has a heart attack or is killed by the ghost.The ghost causes the confession to blow away in the wind. Dr M is hanged almost the same second that Elmer is buried in the graveyard.A short time later Elmer bursts free from his grave. |
| A wake is being held for Dr M.In the next room the sounds of his violin being played startles the mourners.Dr Gonzalez and a young man burst into the room to find Elmer playing the violin.Has Dr M returned from the grave?If so, is he going to go on a concert tour? This movie has some very creepy scenes.The grounds of the asylum are always fog shrouded and there is a real oppressive atmosphere about the film.The backlit shots of the hanging platform are outstanding as are the graveyard scenes. Just wish I knew spanish so I could figure out the juvenile leads and where they fit in.Well worth a look in any language. |
