Pressbooks were available to theatres from National Screen Service. If you remember back in the old days you could actually see a picture of what was playing at the show in the newspaper instead of just 57 screens with showtimes. Those newspaper ads were made from pressbooks and what you see on the left here. They were usually the size of a newspaper page and ran anywhere from 2 to 12 pages. Not only did they have the ads but they had a synopsis of the movie(s) and studio fluff about the stars of the movie. This pb has more info on Beast Of The Yellow Night than on our Edgar Wallace flick. It does have a synopsis and cast list for Blue Hand. |
