Curse Of The Fly  1965
I remember seeing the ads for this on tv back in 1965.Man did I ever want to see this flick!Too bad I had to wait over 30 years to do so.One good thing is that I really wasn't disappointed!

This to me is the best of the "Fly" trilogy.A man turning into a fly via a matter transporter is a little outrageous. But turning into a gooey icky  mutant is much more within the realm of acceptance!

Patricia Stanley escapes from a mental institution in a cool opening scene. She is found on the side of the road by Martin Delambre. They spend a week together in Montreal and after a whirlwind romance, wed.Being a Delambre, Martin has a little secret he hasn't shared with his new bride.Playing with the matter transmitter has forced him to take regular injections or he turns into something hideous.

The Delambre family (led by Brian Donlevy) is once again mucking about with transporters. The "mistakes"
are kept in the stables.Among the accidents is Judith, Martin's first wife who was horribly disfigured
and mentally unbalanced by the procedures.

Henri meets his daughter in law and tells Martin that he must send her away.Martin refuses and the evil housekeeper taunts Pat with pictures of Judith and finally Judith herself. When Pat discovers the mutations out in the stable things really get out of hand.

Henri instructs Martin to send the "mistakes" to London via the matter transmitter. There Henri's other son will dispose of them.Unfortunately things don't go as planned and the mutants break out.Martin and Pat are attacked and Martin begins to change into something rather nasty. The police are on the way but will they be too late?

The downside to this film is the extremely low budget. Not a lot of different sets were used in this film. The make up is okay and a sight better than the guinea pig man from Return Of The Fly.I'll take the gooey mutants of this film.

There is a very Gothic look to this flick and the cast and crew do extremely well with what they have been given. The photography is excellent and the cast & direction is pretty much top notch.I really don't have a problem with Brian Donlevy in the role of Henri. The ending is pretty much
unforgettable and chilling. If it doesn't give you the creeps then not much can.
