Background

Good evening, and welcome to the background page for Across The Times. I have several disclaimers I would like to mention: --All the characters mentioned in this story are not real and never have been real. Any similarities to any real life persons are strictly coincidence. --I took some ideas from a few movies and TV shows I have seen recently and introduced them in a slightly altered way. The inspiration comes from the following: Alias, Erin Brockovich, Ever After, Fifth Element, Hackers, Lord of the Rings, Monty Python, Moulin Rouge, Much Ado About Nothing, The Princess Bride, Red Dwarf, Trainspotting, and Willow.

I recently downloaded the Elven Dictionary and Elven Phrasebook from a friend of mine and decided to use the language in the story. Now, I will be posting the translations of any words I decide to use in the story here, but a lot of it is supposed to puzzle the reader and keep them interested. The point of not translating some of the words is to reveal them in the end. However, I know there will be some of you who won't stand for not knowing what you're reading, so for those cheaters out there I'll post the words as soon as the chapters containing them are included on this site.
