As an annual event this competition has a different sponsor
each year.The personal bookplate for the sponsor is the theme
for each particular year. A brief biography of the sponsor is
included in the information package. The symbols mentioned in
the biography should be- completely or partially - directly or
indirectly, incorporated into the artwork. Following the competition,
an exhibition of all submitted works will be held, and any interested
guests will have access to the artists resumes and addresses.
ELIGIBILITY
Any individual art student currently enrolled in a recognized
art programme OR any young artist under 30. (No group work or
computer generated art is acceptable)
MEDIUM
Any of the traditional printing techniques- lithograph, woodcut,
etching, lino. No mechanically generated images (photocopies,
computer art).
TERMS
Unlimited artistic freedom. Entered works must be functional,
available for editions and signed. Size of artwork - not larger
than 10 x 10 cm and using dark ink ( b&w publication). Name
or initials of the sponsor to be incorporated in the artwork.
Requests for the current years application form must be mailed before March 2, 2001 (postmark). Competition deadline is June 15, 2001. The Niagara Ex Libris Exhibition will coincide with the Niagara Wine Festival in Sept. /Oct. No participation fee.
