THE OPINIONS OR FEELINGS OF APOSTATES MAY HAVE CHANGED. SOME MAY HAVE EVEN EMBRACED ISLAM AGAIN. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND!

The First Survey

I was asked to write the main page of a website called Apostates of Islam. For me to write about Apostates of Islam, I needed information about other Apostates. Plus, I needed to find out what other Apostates would like to see on the website. Thus, the survey was developed so that I can find out this information quickly.

Unfortunately, not many Apostates filled in the survey. However, I made use of what I had to make the main page for the site. The main page was made of a bunch of quotations from Apostates.

If you are an Apostate of Islam and would like to see your opinions on the pages of this website and any other websites given permission to use the survey results, you are invited to fill in the survey.

Future Surveys

People who have abandoned the Islamic faith and lifestyle are prejudiced and discriminated all around the world. It is no surprise that such things could happen in countries where many people do not have religious tolerance. But surprisingly we are prejudiced and discriminated in countries like the Canada and the USA!

I have never come across any proper scientific studies done to find out more about the stigma of leaving Islam (like studies done on stigma of mental illnesses). So, I am hoping to make more surveys in the future to find out more about Apostates of Islam who are hiding in the closets. Perhaps one day, it would be possible to interview Apostates and do proper research.

People are aware about the stigma of mental illnesses, people are aware about anti-Semitism, people are aware of homophobia and it is about time people are aware of apostasyphobia!

The Use of Survey Results

Do not copy the results on your web sites or publish them in print without expressed permission from Ex-Muslims' Survey - this is a violation of copyright.

Do not post the results to newsgroups, use them for mass mailings or even personal email.

All this is to make sure that an Apostate could take back what he or she said out of the public communication channels at anytime.
