PHOTO 47 -- Flight B-8 : August 23, 1972

Liftoff !
The rocket was equipped with a "mercury switch", in a similar vein to the ill-fated pendulum and ball-switches of preceding flights. Parachute deployment did not occur, and after reaching an altitude well out of sight, crashed about 600 feet (185 metres) from the launch site. The PVC fuselage shattered upon impact into a thousand small fragments!
