 | Fourteen seconds after liftoff, at the peak altitude, the ejection charge fired, deploying the recovery parachute (3 foot dia.). The rocket drifted gently downward, and landed after 85 seconds of flight. This was the culmination of a typical fully successful flight. Many of the flights were not, unfortunately, as successful as this one. But all of the less successful flights were learning experiences that provided a challenge, to determine what went wrong, and how to succeed next time. |
