Stone dwelling constructed from four massive boulders and a large flat stone "door plate" about 18 inches thick, 20 feet long and showing at least eight feet vertical above ground. Note the "roof" of the structure, a 34 ton gable shaped block, placed on a three inch wide cut shelf over my left shoulder. Pottery was found (probably left by "squatter" type, temporary occupants) inside. To my right about ten feet you can see a hexagonal cut rock, this gives "information" meant for only a select few. The lichen growth is an indication of the age of the initial construction. This geographic area has remained virtually unchanged for tens of thousands of years and the fossil record dates back to well over 320 million years old. As you can see, the growth of lichen on the worked monument almost equals that of the exposed bedrock adjacent to it. The best clue comes from the "desert tarnish" , the patina that covers the rock surface after thousands of years of exposure. The tarnish on the cut monument demonstrates an age of deep antiquity and that it was created soon after the bed rock was exposed, thousands of years ago.
