Supported FileSystems

Windows 2000 currently supports the following file systems:
ISO9660, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS(Windows NT), NTFS(Windows 2000)

Windows 2000 implements a new version of NTFS and allows migration from older versions, providing new features. The HPFS file system is no longer supported

The NTFS file system used by Windows 2000 supports on-the-fly compression and encryption which transparently provides users with some of the newer features of data storage. File and folder level permission and auditing can also be set to track and restrict access to data.
