(seeding festivals)
The seeding festivals at Passu which is called "Taghm" in Wakhi. for this festival, the villagers agree on a specific day and date including the place.
The seeding Festival starts with a special prayer and an opening ceremony. After praying to Almighty God, one man who has been chosen as the starter, initiates the seeding and poughing process by planting the first seeds. Only local men and children are allowed to put their hands on the plough.
Prayers centre on good healthy crops, healthy family, prosperity and happiness. Since this is a happy occasion, local musicians play their drums and people dance. In addition, there will be polo matches and other lively activities.
Houses are decorated by each family living in it an sharing a good meal with the family members is the height of this festivity.

After many months, the plants are now ready for reaping and harvesting. this stage involves another festival. Harvest time or "Chanir" wakhi is celebrated. This festival is performed in the same way as the seeding festival. The villagers thank "Allah" (God Almightly) for the bounty that they are going to harvest. For this, it means lively music (drum beats), dancing and eating on top of sharing the happiness with one another.
