Local Food
65% of the food consumed in the village are local produce. The main products grown in the area are potatoes, carrots, cabbage, onions, wheat, barley, apples, apricots and livestock. All crops are harvested by hand, wheat and barley are thrashed by machine. The village owns a tractor which is borrowed by villagers to plough their land. Farming follows the subsistence method with entire family support at times of harvest. Land is handed down through the generations on the male side. In the winter meat and vegetables are dried and used to last the cold months. The livestock kept include, goat, sheep, cow, yak and chicken.
