WALT'S NEW COLLECTION OF SHORT SONGS

Warning: This Album Contains...
41 songs in just under 15 minutes. Walt, Burt, Slippy and Johnnie recorded the album in a flurry of noise, trading off intruments with each songs and finishing it all in one night. Mixed down the next day. Done. Here's a boxed set's worth of melodies, stories, moods and sounds. What a blast! The most fun piece of music we've ever done! Listen to the imperative "Go! Go! Keep going!" in between false starts and "Do-overs!," inlcuded at the beginning of tracks. The All-Stars practically force fed these songs to the recorder as fast as they could, barely able to keep up with themselves as it was. Lyrics come out on the fly, in some cases ripped from packages or nearby books, in other cases grabbed from some All-Star or another's reeling brain cells.

While this work presents a departure from much of the more challenging pieces of WMAS, it perfectly captures the freewheeling improvisational spirit of Walt's original mission to break free of the useless norms of pop music. This little nugget is one of the purest examples we've yet produced of the Meadornack aesthetic--musical skill and earnestness sabotaged by honesty.
