Robby Takac
Bassist/Singer/Songwriter
Robby was born on September 30th, 1964. He graduated from Medaille College in communications and was friends with former drummer George Tutuska. He started a band with George and Johnny called Sex Maggots (later turned into the Goo Goo Dolls). Robby's cousin, Paul, was in a band with John at the time, which is how the two met. Before forming the Sex Maggots, Robby was in a band called the Monarchs.
When the Goo Goo Dolls' first started, Robby did a majority of the singing until he was able to convince Johnny to sing as well. Because of this, Johnny's popularity has caused Robby to only sing for a few tracks per new album. |
