Meteor Garden had a huge impact on the Filipino people, making them practically crazy over F4 and the other cast, and F2 and Barbie Xu (Shan-Cai) had no idea about this until they arrived here in the Philippines. The concert was held on Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 8:00 in the evening, but a lot of people were already at the gateway of the Ultra Football Stadium (where the concert would take place) THURSDAY EVENING. T they spent two nights there just to wait for F2 and ASOS!

F2 and ASOS were rumored to arrive in the Philippines at around 11AM. ( I was at school that time and it was P.E. time so I had to play volleyball . . . I was annoying my classmate by telling her how annoyed I was that i couldn't countdown ten seconds before eleven. She's also a fan though.) but the Xu sisters arrived a bit earlier. A lot of people greeted Barbie and her younger sister Dee when they arrived, but others just chased anyone Chinese with long black hair, thinking it was Barbie.  F2 arrived a few hours after, but they let the other passengers and two decoys get out of the plane first before they were able to step foot in the Philippines.

Since there were too many cars near the Ultra Football Stadium (Before the concert. It was six o'clock in the evening), my dad dropped me and my mom off somewhere near the stadium. There were a lot of people in line, so my mom and I decided to go to the back of the line as soon as possible, only to realize that the line was three blocks long! We weren't the last ones though, and the people before us were really friendly, so as we waited for the long line to move, we talked to them and stuff. Then it rained, but no one cared. To also pass time, I texted my friend (the classmate I annoyed earlier) and asked if she was already inside. She said she was, and she told me to go directly to the entrance because there wasn't really a line to get in. My mom refused to move because we might have to go to the back of the line again, so we stayed.

Unfortunately, my friend was right, and when we actually reached the gate (like, 7:15?), everyone separated at once. I can describe what was going on in there in two words. Utter Chaos. The concert hasn't even started, and a few people passed out already. Some got sprains and stuff. All the people who had no tickets and the cheapest tickets (P500, or around $9) had a stampede and rushed to where the people who bought a much more expensive ticket were, so it was really hard to get in to our rightful seat.

Take note. It was raining.)The police and guards weren't letting the others in anymore, but i made the 'paawa-effect' (it means looking quite pitiful) and my mom showed our V.I.P. ticket, so we were asked to jump over some sort of bars the height of a tall fence (they didn't want to open in anymore as it might cause another stamped). We scaled around three bars before we reached our seats, only to find out that instead of actually sitting down on the seats, most people stood on the seats. So my mom decided to just go to the front. Though almost impossible, we were able to get to the very front, although somewhere in the left
side of the stage. Nevertheless, it was a good spot.

The Filipino artists sang first, then ASOS came onstage (and thats when everyone just stopped and listened/watched him. Even the rain stopped.) and sang two songs I didnt know, but was very cute.
Then they asked us to sing along their last song, or at least hum it. Everyone screamed and shrieked when the intro of Qing Fei De Yi (Cant help falling), the opening song of Meteor Garden, was played. Of course, everyone sang along. Then they said good bye and left the stage.

Finally Vanness Wu Jian Hao came on stage, and he sang Looking for Juliet. After the song, he greeted the audience, a and even threw a towel he sort-of used and his hat in the process. Then he said that he was really surprised about how many people still came to see us in that not-so-good weather. So was his agent,
who was at the side of the stage (cant be seen by most people). Then he asked if he could sing us his favorite Christian Song, but hed have to sing it accapella, since this isnt even in the script. They dont know what Im doing (his exact words!)

After that, he sang my favorite song (which he said was also his favorite), Seng Seng Shi Ge Ni or Imagine ten of you. After he sang it, he greeted and thanked the audience again, and he went to our side (the left stage) I was screaming Wo ai Ni (I Love You) at the top of my lungs. Since I have a very loud voice, he probably heard me, looked at me and grinned at me!

After that, he sang Body Will Sing, introduced Ken Zhu Xiao Tien and left the stage. Ken entered the stage singing One Fine Day After the song, he also greeted us (in English) but said them in a more calm way than Vanness did. I think he was too shy to speak a lot of English.

Then someone gave him a guitar. Im sure it wasnt his, it was a different one from the one he usually used. Then he asked us what we wanted him to sing. A lot of people screamed Here We Are and Show Me Your Love, but he also looked and grinned at me when I was the only who screamed Heat Of The Night, a song he made and sang in Taiwan.

He then sang Here we Are, and after that, he sang a song not familiar to us, Inside My Guitar Then he invited Vanness back on the stage, so he joined him and they sang You as a Friend.

Back to me and my mom. We had a plan to throw a teddy bear each to them with a letter attached just saying thank you and good luck, and my e-mail address. I told my mom that the song was about to end and we wouldnt be given any other chance to give it to them, so I threw Kens teddy bear. Unfortunately, it reached the stage for a few seconds but fell on the grass. The guards took it, read the message, and the next thing I knew, it was gone. I didnt know what happened to it though.

Filipino artists went on stage after You as a Friend to distract the audience as Vanness and Ken left the stage.

Then the show ended with Fireworks and such, then we all left looking like wet chicks (I was hugging the Teddy Bear meant for Vanness. I was quite disappointed.) but nevertheless, after all the things most of us went through, it was worth it.

Once again, F4s fans have showed that through rain or shine, we will strive to see them no matter what. :)
