Antony Harding used to be a drummer in UK band Hefner, but he's also a sweetvoiced bedroom recording man, who has been recording four great records in his own name. And more are on its way. I met Ant at the 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street in London, summer 1998, and for some reason we started talking about his singing on Hefner the album track "The Librarian", which I like very much. We met again at the Emmaboda festival the year after, and then he had a single release on Evil World Records, run by bandmate Darren Hayman. The 7" was great, but when I got a few newer songs on tape they were even better. That's when me and Anna decided to put it out. We had practically no money (that bit haven't changed through the years), and the cheapest possible way was to duplicate CD-R with xeroxed sleeves in 100 copies. We did that and the single sold out very quick. That means you can't get it, but the songs will be on a forthcoming singles and rare tracks compilation on Fortune & Glory Records. Read about that on his own homepage. ANT "Where Happiness Begins" 1. Where Happiness Begins 2. The Queue To Your Heart 3. Your Heart Got Bored Released as a CDR in 100 copies september 1999 |
