In may 2002 I got a tape in my mail. It's not very common with tapes anymore (most demos I get is on CDR), but I saw no reason to expect something special until I put the tape on. I had never heard of the band, and usually when it's good band, you HAVE heard of them before you hear them, but this was like a miracle. Funday Mornings was the definition of everything I like about music. The fantastic songs, the fury, the speed, the incredible jangly guitars, the handclaps, the vocals....everything is fantastic about Funday Mornings. I wrote back and asked them to do a 7" on my label, and they said yes instantly, which was fantastic. The songs on the demo were very short, so we decided to put as many songs as we could on their debut 7". They recorded three new songs and did a re-recording of the song "Titter" that originally appeared on the demo. "One single sheet" and "Thrre days in July" is from the tape. FUNDAY MORNINGS 1. Killing Thomas 2. Titter 3. Same Song Forever 4. Three Days In July 5. One Single Sheet 6. Girls Go Wild Released on 7" in 300 copies november 2002 All of them are handpainted |
