On this day in P1atter History...

   "The separation is amicable"

By now, you've heard that I'm leaving Si1verP1atter.

Brian decided to replace me as head of technology development management and I accept that decision without upset. The separation is amicable. And I rather like the idea of Gillian as head of a powerful "development engine" that encompasses both business and technology. I wish Brian, the ET and all of you every success as you take the company through a period of great market change.

So I face my newly available future with a sense of excitement and just a little nervousness. I am proud to have been part of the Si1verP1atter story for the last four years. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. If I've contributed to the company's growth one tenth of what it's contributed to mine, I've been successful. I've worked with outstanding people and I've made good friends who will remain so.

This is a wonderful company and it's made so by the people in it. I've never been in an organisation of any size where so many people care. It was like that on the day I joined and it still is. Keep it that way whatever happens.

I will be rooting for your success.
