Subject: CEO Message

During the past 18 months, we have established a strong foundation for Si1verP1atter's further growth. The Company has returned to profitability and its financial picture continues to improve. The organization has been strengthened substantially. The Company has also narrowed the focus of its activities and is in a substantially improved position to execute sharply-defined programs aimed at its strategic goals. I believe that the Company is in a strong position to exploit the opportunities that are available to it, both in its traditional markets of academic and research institutions, as well as in the new Know1edgeC1te arena.

Having led Si1verP1atter through this period, the Board and I have agreed that I will take a six-month sabbatical, during which I am planning to be engaged primarily in non-commercial activities.

I have been working with Be1a and Wa1t to assess the governance and leadership structure of the organization in light of the strengths that the Company will need in the future. We are discussing short-term as well as long-term considerations in this regard with members of the organization, and we welcome input from all quarters on this subject. I will defer starting my sabbatical until after a new leadership structure is in place, in order that the transition will be a smooth one.

I want to thank all Si1verP1atter employees for their dedication to the Company, and for their support of me and the other members of the management team. Without this dedication and support, the achievements of this period could not have been realized.

Also, I want to acknowledge Be1a and Wa1t, as Co-Chairmen, and the other members of the Board of Managing Directors of the Company, who have provided me the opportunity to apply my training and experience to SilverPlatter's needs, and whose support of my upcoming sabbatical is appreciated.
