Tamahome who has just saved Miaka is telling her it is not safe to wander
around by herself. Miaka starts crying on Tamahome and tells him she was scared. Tamahome
tells her the gang is gone and asks why she was looking for him. She asks if he remembers
Yui and asks what he did with her. He says he does not know and goes to leave. Miaka mulls
him and asks him again. She says she won't leave until he says he will help. |
| Miaka keeps on following him They go across the screen back and forth all
stalker like and Miaka is rambling stuff about being a coward and not a man. This makes
Tamahome mad and he stops and says men get paid for work and asks her for money again. She
still doesn't have any to give him. So instead of chasing him around some more she yells
out that he is a slave trader and sold Yui. People start to gather around them to listen.
And say all these horrible things about Tamahome and slave traders. Tamahome grabs Miaka
and runs (my fave line btw). |

As they are running they talk and Miaka tells him that unless he helps her
she'll spread around that Slave trader stuff again. Tamahome tells her she is not a slave
trader, and Miaka tells him she already knows that. Tamahome then drops her on the ground.
Miaka is upset because she and Yui are both by themselves and starts crying again.
Tamahome says he doesn't have time to track someone down and that it is hard work. This is
when the emperor comes by in his little cart thing and a parade of people. Miaka asks who
it is. |
| Tamahome tells her it is the fourth emperor of Konan and that he has
never heard anything bad about him. Miaka, who still has to pay Tamahome, tells him that
she will ask the emperor for some of his jewels that way he can pay Tamahome to help her
find Yui. Everything is going okay as Miaka walks beside the emperor's
Palanquin and is
asking him kindly if he could spare some of his gems because he's so rich. Our klutzy
Miaka however trips on a stone and the road and grabs onto one of the carts curtains and
the guards think that she is trying to attack the emperor. Tamahome saves her from the
clutches of the evil guards (ok so they aren't really evil) |

| He tells her that she has guts and that he'll help her. He introduces
himself as Sou Shouko but everyone calls him Tamahome.. Miaka says she still can't pay
him, but Tamahome says he'll take his payment now and gives her a kiss on the forehead.
Miaka blushes. The guards come to attack them again and Miaka starts
glowing in a red light
and starts to fade from the book world and reappear in the library. She sees Yui reading
the book, and tries to reach out to her but Suzaku the bird stops her from leaving and
brings her back to Kounan. Tamahome is in shock, and The emperor orders them to be
arrested, but not harmed. (Commercial intermission) |

We come back and Miaka is dreaming about Yui, asking if she is taking the
Jonan exam, her mom is then saying that its impossible for her to take the exam and that
she is too late. Miaka wakes up clinging to Tamahome, after a few insults
Tamahome asks who
Miaka really is. Miaka doesn't answer him but tells him that Yui made it back home.
Miaka says she couldn't make it back there. Tamahome tells her not to cry and that he will
help her get back there because she promised him an award. |
| We switch scenes and see a huge room where the emperor sits. His advisors
are telling him he should execute the prisoners immediately, because the female may be a
witch or worse. This is when the emperor reminds them of the legend of the Priestess of
Suzaku and asks them if they saw the red light that surrounded Miaka and also that she
wears foreign clothes. He tells his advisors she may be the priestess. |

|
In the prison and Miaka is hungry, she searches her pockets and finds some
gum to chew on. The guard asks what she put in her mouth and tells her to show him. She
does this by blowing a bubble that pops all over her face. The guard thinks she is a
ghost, he freaks and the key goes flying. Tamahome grabs the key and the two of them break
free. That is after Tamahome sees Miaka covered with gum and runs into a wall. Miaka asks
if everyone is going crazy around her, but her face is still covered in gum. |
| They sneak down a hallway and Tamahome is extremely happy because Miaka
has given him some gum and he makes sure that she is not going to take it back later.
Miaka can't believe that he is so protective of the gum and so stingy. Anyway they go into
a room and there is a giant gold statue of the bird Suzaku. Tamahome goes into a long
speech about the four gods and while he is rambling on Miaka smells the food from the
kitchens and heads towards it. She sneaks into the room and eats all the food that was on
the table before heading out to a court yard. Once out there she realizes she left
Tamahome behind and that she doesn't know what door to go back in. |

She runs around a bit and she hears laughing. She looks and to see who it
is. A beautiful woman points to the appropriate exit, and as she is about to
leave the woman asks if Miaka is the one who was arrested. Miaka tries to deny it
but the woman says she will not tell the guards on her. She
just wants to know if she was trying to attack the emperor. Miaka tells her that
she wasn't. That she was just trying to talk to the emperor not harm him. |
| Tamahome has finally noticed that Miaka is gone. He starts to search for
her when he is seen by several guards. Since he can not find Miaka Tamahome decides to be
bait so that Miaka may have time to escape the palace. The guards ask him where the girl
is and he tells them he doesn't know, he also tries to run around a bit to by Miaka more
time. Unbeknownst to him is that Miaka is really just on the other side of the court yard. |

Miaka is still talking to the Woman about needing to find
Tamahome because he helped her and she also lets slip that she is from another world. She
thinks this Woman will think she is nuts, but the Woman is actually very
excited and wants to hear all about it. The Woman now introduces herself
as Hotohori although says that she is usually called something else. she holds
onto Miaka's face and Miaka blushes, Miaka tells Hotohori that she is beautiful
and Hotohori laughs and says something along the lines like I know. They hear guards off
in the distance and Hotohori tells Miaka to hide. |
| Tamahome as well as the guards come into sight. Tamahome is being held by
several of them and has apparently been recaptured. Miaka can't stand to see Tamahome
thrown in prison because of her and steps out to the guards. Tamahome sees this and is
shocked (I think by the fact that she didn't use this time to escape) Anyway Miaka says
she can't leave him hear alone. She is grabbed by one of the guards and Tamahome gets
really mad And his Ogre character starts glowing seeing Miaka may be in danger. He attacks
the guards and frees Miaka He tells them if anyone touches Miaka he will kick their ass. |

Hotohori who has been watching is shocked by Miaka's actions and the fact
that Tamahome has a character of Suzaku on his forehead. He realizes that she really must
be the priestess of Suzaku. Hotohori yells at everybody to stop fighting and reveals
that he is the emperor of Konan. They stop fighting immediately and Tamahome can't believe
that he's in front of the real emperor and quickly bows down. t. Miaka looks slightly
shocked. |
| She asks Tamahome how could such a beautiful young woman be the emperor of
the city. Tamahome tells Miaka that the Emperor is a man and to please get down on her
knees. Miaka however still can't believe it so she goes up to Hotohori and feels up his
chest she says that it's flat so that means down below there should be man parts she knows
nothing about. Tamahome then comes up, severely shocked, and swats her down. (this part is
really funny. If you can you must see this part.) |

We are once again back in the big royal meeting room, and Hotohori is in
his Emperor garb and he apologizes for tricking Miaka because that wasn't his goal, he
just wanted to see what she was like. He tells her that she is the girl who was foretold
and that if she likes can become the Priestess of Suzaku and that she can make any wishes
she likes. Miaka thinks about it and imagines wishing she'll get into Jonan with Yui, or
have all the guys like her and little wishes like that. Hotohori tells her that those are
baby wishes and that she could wish to rule the world if she desired. t. Miaka tells
Hotohori that she will do it. She will become the Priestess of Suzaku. |
| Hotohori stands up and proclaims that from this day forth Miaka Yuuki will
become the Priestess of Suzaku. She is brought out of the palace room to the front where
hundreds of people were bowing down before her. Yui reads aloud that Miaka consented to
receive the powers of Suzaku and that hundreds of courtiers bowed down to pay homage to
her. To them she was their saviour |
