History of Fake Tomatoe
Fake Tomatoe Productions was founded in 2001 by Brian Michael Mann.  The first equipment we had was a Samsung 8mm camera, VCR, and a Video mini editor/enhancer/mixer.

The influences for picking up a camera in the first place were video artists seen in museums and their exciting work. An uncle in Washington used to dabble in video and send his works home for Brian to see.  The founder saved up his allowance and gift money from relatives to finally purchase his first camera and later editing equipment.

Short films came out of this camera and the scenes were set in the basement, neighborhood, and rooms throughout the house.

New works are still being created, but on updated equipment. We now have a Sony DV video camera and Pinnacle Software for editing on the computer.

Our first collaboration with DCTV aired on PBS February 10 at 8:30 P.M.
The piece is a segment for the Emmy award winning series IMNY which airs every Monday night at 8:30.

Another work is "Addicted to Nothing" on the same series.

The company also focuses on artist documentaries and promotional videos. For more information please
