instead, East Stirling winning 5-2. East Stirling's first defeat was in their 14th match. Carron & West Carron may have been the same team. In the first round in 1886 Camelon defeated Grahamston 5-0 but were disqualified for fielding
ineligible players. The last years of the competition were a disaster, with withdrawals and teams refusing to play
and although it was never officially ended it was allowed to lapse. It was resurrected in 1913, but the First World War ended it after one season.
