- Chomsky, Noam: The Fateful Triangle.
Chomsky's seminal tome on politics in the middle east, with emphasis on the unconditional nature of American support for Israel since it's founding in 1948.
- Corbin, Jane: Gaza First.
Rather starry-eyed but interesting record of the secret talks between Israelis and Palestinians leading to the ill-fated Oslo accords.
- Finkelstein: The Holocaust Industry.
A short, but daring attack on the utilisation of the memory of the Holocaust for political and commercial gain.
- Reeve, Simon: One Day in September.
Based on the Oscar-winning documentary of the same name, this is a blow-by-blow account of the events of the 1972 Munich Olympics
when 11 Israeli atheletes died after being taken hostage by members of Palestinian group Black September.
The incompetence of the German authorities and the arrogance of the Olympic commitee would be funny, if the events described were not so horrific.
- Shlaim, Avi: The Iron Wall.
A history of Israeli policy toward the Arabs and the Zionist doctrine that military supremacy is a precondition to negotiation.
- Whitelam, Keith: The Invention of Ancient Israel
Originally intended as a history of Palestine, the research for this work proved so difficult, due to the politic al and ideological domination of the
concept of 'Ancient Israel' in historical study, that Whitelam changed tack and decided to write purely about the 'silencing of Palestinian history'.
The United States

The sheer scale of this work beggars belief. A readable and fascinating history of events leading up to and through the Nazi era.
- Gilroy, Paul: There ain't no black in the Union Jack
The seminal work on rascism and fascism in Britain.

books Orientalism and Culture and Imperialism.
