The Steven Culp Fan Connection was proud to
once again take part of the annual JAGFanFest.
This year the Fest raised money for the victims
of Katrina. The SCFC was thrilled to help the
Fest raise funds for the American Red Cross and
the Navy Marine Corps Fund, for Hurricane Katrina
victims.
This special JAGFanFest newsletter will recap
the weekend, and share with all SC fans, info on
how SC and "Webb" helped in this great charity
event.
JAGFanFest 2005.
The preparations by "TotallySteven" for the JAG
FanFest started several months ago, and it is
thanks to the fans that were present at the Fest
and those who helped us so much before the event,
that our booth dedicated to the talented Steven
Culp, was such a hit.
The Fest started Thursday night with an informal
gathering of fans. On top of one of the tables was
a large, wonderful picture of SC, that got the
attention of many fans there. Several SC fans
gathered around that table and some met fellow SC
fans face to face for the very first time.
By Friday night, several of the SC fans were wearing
their "Steven Culp Fan" t-shirts that "Totally Steven"
made available for SC list members attending the Fest.
At the SCFC booth there were several goodies for
everyone to take. FanFest pencils, bookmarks, pocket
calendars, key rings, bumper stickers, SC & JAG post-
cards, magnets, CD calendar & "I love Clayton Webb"
chocolates.
We also had two raffles available for the fans.
Raffle prizes included signed scripts by SC, caps, SC
movies, the "Desperate Housewives" DVD, photo cups,
magazines featuring SC articles/photos, and more.
Other booths set up at the fest included the Men of JAG,
the Randy Vasquez Fan Club, Bud Lovers Anonymous, the
Women of JAG, the H&M Shipper, JAGissimo (dedicated
to the music of JAG), and the Harmy Board booth.
On Friday night, we had the honor to welcome Randy Vasquez
to the Fest. He graciously signed autographs for the fans
for a couple of hours.
Saturday morning, we were entertained by a tape provided by
Harriet Margolis & JAG's TPTB. The tape covered the last 10
seasons of JAG. It was a fun and emotional trip down memory lane.
Saturday afternoon, we were joined by Hallee Hirsh, Kevin Kostner,
(JAG productions), JAG composer Steve Bramson, and Audience Liaison
Harriet Margolis for a Q&A. Saturday night we welcomed Peter Murnick,
John De Mitta, Jade Carter and Harrison Page. These four wonderful
gentleman handled the Charity Auction, which featured items donated
by TPTB at JAG, actors, and fans.
For SC fans there some items of interest. JAG productions donated
the ring that Clayton Webb wore for many seasons on JAG! This ring
(a high school ring with a red stone) came with Webb's ID holder.
We were thrilled to see the ring go as high as $1,500! That was more
than what "Harm's" ring was bought for!
The German carousel that Webb gave Mac as a gift in one of Webb's
last appereances on JAG, went for $600. A SC package which included
a movie, script, and SAG program autographed by SC went for $500!
In the silent auction, there were also a couple of items for SC fans.
One was a package that included scripts autograhed by SC, SC movie,
& a photo autographed by SC. It raised $300. Another item was Webb's
burned wallet from the episode "Webb of Lies." It went for $275!
A JAG watch donated by an SC fan, in honor of Steven, raised $490!
In total, SC related auction items raised approx. $3,600. Our raffles
brought in over $1,000.
Thank you to all who bought tickets and participated in the auctions.
All money raised at the Fest will be donated to the American Red Cross
and the Navy Marine Corps Fund, for Hurricane Katrina victims.
Congratulations!
We want to congratulate our raffle winners. One raffle was won by Mary P. from
Utah. The other raffle was won by one of our very own "Culpies" from the mailing
list, Ginger Clerk from Northern California.
Our congratulations also to another list member, Monika Page who put up a fierce
battle at the auction and came out the winner, taking home Webb's ring and a
big hug from actor John DeMitta. Also congrats to Ruth Holden from NJ, who won
one of the SC auction packages.
Congratulations to all!
We missed Steven!
Even though the Fest was a success, we could not help missing our wonderful
Steven. All the fans missed seeing Steven at the Fest, and many complained,
quite often throughout the weekend about his character's death in "Desperate
Housewives."
Steven was unable to attend the Fest this year due to a reading of "The Velvet
Sky" that he took part of in San Francisco the same weekend.
Upon hearing the news, some of the fans that were at the Fest quickly decided to
take a road trip up north. Needless to say, the fans had a wonderful time and
enjoyed the great opportunity of seeing Mr. Culp on stage. (Yes, those fans
that that had to stay behind to work at the TS booth on Saturday night were
jealous!).
We look forward to seeing a review of the reading by one of the lucky fans that
attended. You will be able to find it in our 'theater' section in the near future.
Newsletter Bonus!
As a bonus to our Special Fest newsletter, we want to share a letter from SC to
his fans that we just received. You can find it HERE.
Enjoy all the latest news about SC's latest projects.
Reminders
Remember to Steven in Bravo's "Celebrity Poker" on October 13th. Check local
listings for times.
Do not forget to buy the "Desperate Housewives" season 1 DVD! And the book
"Desperate Housewives: Behind Closed Doors".
In Appreciation
There is no way that the JAGFanFest would have taken place this year without
the dedication, generosity, and support of many people.
We want to thank our staff at "Totally Steven." Without your help we never
would have pulled this off. Thanks to Margarita, SDI, Kathleen Mc and ST.
Your input, creativeness, donations, work, and support were out of this world.
You made our work easier and helped us avoid so many headaches! We are
indebted to you!
Thanks also to other fans who donated items and their time: Monika (for several
of the goodies in the bags for list members) Suz, Kathy, and Laura. Thanks for
your work and generosity! Thanks also to Monika and Doris for helping to set
up the booth and with raffle sales.
Thanks also to all our fellow Fest organizers. It was fun working with such a
fun and crazy group of people! This was our last time, but it will be a great
one to remember.
To the SC fans at the fest and our "list family," thank you for your on going
support, the words of encouragement, and all the fun and laughs.
Most of all a HUGE THANK YOU to the Mr. Culp. He continues to motivate us with
his talent and great personality. It is his generosity that drives us at
"Totally Steven" to continue our work at the Fan Connection. Our thanks to Mr.
Culp for the numerous autographed items he donated for the raffles and auctions.
His kindness towards the fans never ceases to amaze us. THANK you Mr. Culp for
making this Fest one of the most succesfull for "Totally Steven" and the SC fans.
