Delorean was founded in 1975 by a man name John De lorean. When the company came to in an end in 1982 John Delorean said, " It's inevitable that the company come back." which means that he thought his company would recover. However Delorean never made another car. Currently there are only 6,500 original Deloreans on the road, but this is a lot considering there were only 9,000 25 years ago. |

The cost of a Delorean when it first came out was $25,000 which is equivalent to $57,500 currently. The Delorean can go from 0 to 60 in 10.5 seconds. Delorean only made one model which was stainless still, however Delorean did offer gold cars, but only 2 were sold. Only about 9,500 Deloreans were ever made. The Delorean was featured in a movie called Back to the Future. The first prototype for the back to the back to the future Delorean was made in 1971. The car has home made additions put onto it to make it seem like a time machine. Delorean used the movie, Back to the Future as an advertisement for their car. Since Delorean did not sell all of their cars I do not think Delorean got as many sales as they wanted from featuring their car in a movie. Top of page |
