Blue eyes
(Ashley's Perspective)
"Watch your step, and enjoy your stay on Walt Disney Cruise Line!"
"Watch your step," such a simple phrase, but the next few weeks would revolve around those words, too bad I didn't pause long enough to listen.
"Wow, guys, check out these rooms!!" Chrissy exclaimed as my best friends and I entered our cabin, which would serve as home away from home for the next few weeks. I could only stand there with my mouth open, gaping like an idiot at the three bedroom, two bathroom, cabin.
"Geeze, Linds, when you said you had connections, I didn't know you could get us this!!"
"Yeah, well, what can I say, Grandpa is the best! And he really came through."
"Alright, well what do you say girls, should we unpack and then explore, or should we explore and then unpack?" I said, smiling. Already thinking about the opportunities to come. Four weeks of pure bliss with my two best friends in the whole world! And not to mention, the hot guys that are bound to be found on the beautiful islands of the Bahamas.
"Let's go exploring! Cute guys, here we come!" Chrissy said, reading my mind, as usual.
We walked out of our cabin and down to the first level.
"….Beauty salon, movie theater, exercise room, and..OH MY GOD!! WHO IS THAT???"
"Who?" Linds said as I completely flipped out at the sight of the most gorgeous guy I'd ever seen in my life!
"Right over there!" I said, pointing to the hottie breaking a sweat on the tread mill. The brown hair, blue eyed babe looked up in our direction and smiled. Now I know why they say a smile can launch a thousand ships!
"He's so your type…." Chrissy said.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Temporarily forgetting about the hottie.
"Oh, I just ment that he's no Justin Timberlake."
"Duhhh, Chris. You like *Nsync remember??? And it doesn't matter because I definitly want to get to know that cutie better! Be right back!"
I calmly approached him, smiling the whole way.
"Hi! Having fun?" I said nonchalantly peering up into those baby blues.
"Hey! Yeah, wait, actually no. I mean…uhhh.."
I laughed, "I know what you mean. I'm Ashley."
"I'm Brian." Ohhh, that smile again! WOW!
A very awkward silence followed..but then my angel spoke.
"So, are you here on vacation?"
"Yeah, my friends and I decided to go on a cruise to celebrate our graduation."
"That's cool! I wish I had time..errr, I was able to do that when I graduated."
"Yeah, I'm expecting it to be a lot of fun. I'm really glad I, or, we came."
"Me too."
"Well, I should go or else Linds and Chris will think I've deserted them."
"Wait, Chris? You have a boyfriend?"
I laughed. "Nooo, Chris is what I call her. Her real name is Chrissy."
"Oh, ok, I'll see you around then."
"I hope so." Just as I was starting to walk out, Brian stopped me.
"Ashley! Wait! What's your cabin number?"
"It's 23."
"Thanks! Bye!"
"Bye!"
I walked back to my friends in a daze. In fact, I almost walked by them. I can't believe he's for real! I thought. Wow, I really hope I see him again.
"Hey, Ash! Earth to Ash! HELLO??" Linds said.
"Huh, oh, sorry, I guess I was just in a daze."
"Duhhh!!! We figured that one out! So, what did you say?"
"He asked why I was here and I told him I was with you guys for our graduation present. And then we chatted a little more and then he asked for my room number!"
"AWSOME! Now, let's go explore the other levels and maybe then Linds and I can find some guys that will ask us for our room numbers!"
Chrissy and Lindsay started leading the way to the second level, and I followed slowly. I just couldn't stop thinking about those wonderful blue eyes. They were as deep as the ocean and full of unlocked secrets and hidden emotion. The kind of eyes that I could loose myself in forever.
