The Quiet Retreat Chapel

The Church in the GlenDs by Charles H. White

Tucked away in a whispering grove of aspens the guests and wedding party find a small glass dome shaped building…The Quiet Retreat Chapel.

Constructed of opaque glass panels and interspersed with intricate stained glass mosaics, it exudes a sense of peace and serenity. The slabs of stone that lead to the door are colorful and inlaid with fossil designs.

Surrounding the chapel is a garden filled with roses of every color and variety. Lavender, sage, and mint fill the air with their scent as the party proceeded up the moss covered stone steps to the chapel doors. The soft song of the many and varied wind chimes sooth the heart and soul of A/all who walk amongst them.

The hand carved wooden doors, with their charming fairies and elves playing among flowers and woods swing quietly open to allow the guests to file into the quiet softly lit interior.

Hoya vines grow across the interior walls, thick with soft pink blooms that fill the air with their exotic perfume. Through out the room, to either side of the center aisle of deep burgundy carpet, are rows of delicate looking pews made of burnished driftwood covered by white damask cushions which are embroidered with soft green ivy leaves and the QR monogram.

The air is filled with colorful confetti of butterflies that dip and dodge among the multitudes of flowers on the vine-covered walls. At the far end of the room is a raised dais. To either side of the two steps leading up to the dais are tall candleholders created from driftwood lush ferns surrounding their bases.

Strategically placed bouquets of sapphire hued roses glitter like the gemstones from which they take their color. Nestled in pillows of soft white baby’s breath they fill the air with a soft, spiced aroma.

The air is filled with the soft sweet almost ethereal strains of Enigma's sensing the spheres.
