The Burlington City Park Carousel
Burlington City Park is on Church St. (Hwy. 70), where it and Main St. converge. This is where the best parking lot is located for riding any of the rides in the park, and the carousel is right behind the lot. There is a great Carousel Festival here in September each year, and all the rides are free that weekend. Check out the map  if you'd like to find this carousel!

We found  beautiful carousel horse graphics at Dee Dreslough's Gallery. She even has one without color that you can download and color yourself, as well as many other cool graphics.
Hampton Carousel
Hampton Carousel, Hampton,VA
The Hampton Carousel was originally located at Buckroe Beach,  then was bought by the city of Hampton, VA & moved to its present location next to the Air & Space Museum. Beautifully restored in elegant muted tones of cream, brown, black & gold, each horse has a plaque on the platform beside it naming the people who contributed to its restoration. A good time to visit this carousel is during the Bay Days festival in early September.

Graphics & Music Links!
Historical carousels are becoming very rare. Many of them are broken down and sold at auction in pieces. But riding a beautiful old handmade wooden carousel is special fun for any age person! Someone put a lot of care into carving every animal, painting every panel. We are lucky to be near more than one, and have found others. In this section we will feature photos of the carousels we have visited & information about antique carousels.

Coolidge Park Carousel
Coolidge Park Carousel is the restored frame of a Dentzel carousel, with all new hand-carved figures, panels & ticket booth created by the carvers of the Horsin' Around carving school. The park was created around the carousel, and it is a fun and beautiful place. The park is located in Chattanooga, TN, just across the river from the Tennessee Aquarium. All of the Riverpark developments greatly beautify Chattanooga, so if you should go to visit the wonderful Aquarium, be sure to also explore the riverbanks. A particularly fun and scenic way to get to the carousel is to walk across from the Aquarium side of the river via the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge--an old iron bridge painted blue & converted for foot & bicycle traffic.
