| Cops say, on November 22, 2002, Patrick Gleeson picked up his two children, Joshua and Ashley for a court-ordered visit. He was supposed to have the children back to their mother in Dwight, Illinois by 11am on November 25, 2002. He never showed. On November 29, 2002, cops in Holland, Michigan found the body of Patrick's live-in girlfriend, 43-year-old Dena Lynn Fugelseth. They believe Patrick shot and killed her days before. They estimate the date of the murder was November 26, 2002. Cops say his two children may have witnessed the execution before taking them on the run. On December 6, 2002, cops received credible information, placing Patrick in the Daytona Beach, Florida area. By the following evening, cops in Florida located Patrick sleeping in his minivan, armed with a handgun. But there was no sign of the children until this morning. Joshua's body was found first floating in the river. Authorities took the body to a pathologist who, through dental records, positively identified the body was Joshua's. The Will County Coroner's Office made another sad determination: Joshua had been shot to death with a small caliber gun. Police then used a drag line to scour the river near where Joshua was found. That's when they discovered Ashley's body. Police are still trying to determine how she died. Meanwhile Patrick has been returned to Michigan to face charges of killing Fugelseth. Police have not yet indicated whether they plan on indicting him with the murder of his children. |
