I am Cindy. I am 37 years old and I live in Sarasota, Florida. I have an Associate Degree in Office Administration, Administrative Assistant Specialization. I am an Administrative Manager for a non-profit educational facilty for the blind and visually impaired. I love my job and love to see the rewards it brings.
I am married to my wonderful husband Matt. He is 35 and is the Service Manager for a Harley Davidson shop. He is a good husband and treats me like a queen.
I have 3 darling children - Kari, 17 - Samantha (Sami), 16, and Alec, 12. My children are my life! I love them so much and am so very proud of them.
Kari is a Junior in high school and gets great grades and always makes honor roll. She isn't sure what college she wants to go to yet, or what she wants to be, but we are checking things out. I cannot believe she is 17 already - almost an adult. She is a good girl and I trust her and know that she would never do anything stupid. Kari also works at the harley shop in motor clothes. Kari is a leader and has alot of friends. Kari loves her music cd's and loves to talk on the phone and on the net. It isn't uncommon to see the phone on her ear and her typing on the compter at the same time. She would be lost without the computer and her cell phone.
Sami is a Sophmore in high school and has grown up to be quite a young lady. I am also proud of her. She does good in school and tries very hard. She works at a daycare and she loves it. She also loves having money of her own. Sami used to take dance and wants to start that back up, but working everyday after school might be a challenge for dance. Sami also loves to listen to music and chat on the internet. She has a cell phone too that she loves to talk on and send text messages.
Alec is a 6th grader in middle school. I can't believe he is in middle school already. He has grown so fast. He is my little baby, but he is almost as big as me. Alec always makes honor roll also. He loves to play baseball. He has made the majors for the 3rd year in a row. He is really good at baseball and loves to play catcher. Last year, he made the All Star team and he really enjoyed it. He also loves to skateboard.
I also have my other baby, my white miniature schnauzer, Sinder. She is such a little sweetheart. She acts just like a baby and is just like one of my kids. She has a great personality and she is spoiled rotten. My dad has a male miniature schnuazer, Harry, and he spends more time at my house than at my dad's house. Harry and Sinder love each other so much and are always inseperable. They have had 2 litters of puppies. Some of their pictures are on under "Pics" and "Sinder's Puppies".
In our free time, my husband and I love to go motorcycle riding. There is nothing better than sitting on the back of a bike, with the wind in your face. It relaxes me. Whenever I get the chance, I am riding on the bike.
She was hospitalized in August 05 for an infectious cyst under her arm and she aquired staff infection. After surgery is when she decided that this was not the quality life she wanted and decided to go off dialysis. The dialysis social worker told her she had anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks to live - said no other patient had made it past 3 weeks. Once home from the hospital, she called my 2 sisters here from Indiana and Kentucky and her sister from Indiana. They were all here for a week and we had an excellent time! We got to spend quality time with her. Mom kept getting sicker and sicker and she vomited constantly. I went and got a tattoo on my left shoulder of a heart with a halo over it and wings and the words "MOM" under it. Go to my pictures and I will post a picture of it.
We finally called hospice in for them to take care of her at home. They could not get the nausea under control. Three weeks came and went and she was still with us. We couldn't understand what was going on and thought maybe she was over medicated and over treated, but the dr. told us that since she had dialysis for almost 2 years, that her kidney's didn't have to work much and that it would just take time for them to fail again. They finally admitted her to the Hospice House to try to get the nausea under control and she never came home from there. She was in the hospice house for almost 3 weeks. We would go visit and spend time with here there when we weren't working. She slowly got worse and worse. It was so hard to watch what was happening to her. The poison in her body attacked her brain and she would talk nonsense. She thought it was her wedding day and things like that. She would get so mad at us because she thought we should be doing things like getting dressed and everything. It was so hard to try to re-direct her. She is very stubborn.
she was visited by the real Patch Adams, who sang in her ear. She was unconsious, so she wasn't able to see him, but I know she knew he was there. My mom made her departure from this world on her 54th birthday - October 30, 2005 and entered heaven. She survived 9 1/2 weeks after she was taken off of dialysis. I have no doubt in my mind that she held off until her birthday. As long as I can remember, she always told us that she would only live to be 54 years old and we always had the "yeah, yeah" attitude, but now I know that she waited til her birthday.
My mom was an amazing woman who made an impact on everyone she met!! We keep finding the pennies she said she would drop from heaven! I know she is still here with my, but I miss her dearly. She was my best friend, and now she is my guardian angel. I dedicate this site to her. I love you mom and miss you dearly!
We moved to Florida 3 1/2 years ago. My parents lived here and my mom got real sick. She was diagnosed with Kidney Failure as soon as she moved down here. She didn't want to go on dialysis and told us she wasn't going to live off a machine. We packed everything up and moved to Florida to be with her for her final days. Once we moved down here, her dr. finally talked her into doing dialysis. She told him she would try it for him. She tried it for almost 2 years, but decided it wasn't what she wanted to do. She was in constant pain. She also had both types of arthritis and was a diabetic. She couldn't walk very well and she wasn't able to do alot of the things we did as a family. She was so sick and tired from going to dialysis that she spend most of her time in bed. She then spent the next day in bed recovering from dialysis, then she would have to get up the next day and do it all over again.
